Rivera will start at third base and bat eighth in Thursday's game against the Red Sox.

It's the fourth consecutive start for Rivera, with the last three of them coming versus right-handers. He has seemingly moved ahead of Nick Gordon in terms of playing time, as the Marlins have been deploying Bryan De La Cruz in left field, Josh Bell at designated hitter and Jake Burger at first base while Rivera occupies the hot corner.

Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Paredes took Michael Wacha deep in the opening frame for an early 1-0 lead. He and Amed Rosario were the only Rays to get on base multiple times in the game after Paredes drew multiple walks for the first time since May 17. He's now racked up five extra-base hits, reached base a total of eight times and driven in four runs over his last three games. Paredes is enjoying another productive campaign after breaking out last year, slashing .276/.365/.481 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 33 runs and a 35:57 BB:K in 342 plate appearances.

Berti (calf) could begin taking live at-bats shortly after the All-Star break, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Berti has been re-incorporating baseball activities in recent days and will continue to ramp things up. He should be ready for a rehab assignment soon after some live hitting, with a return before the end of July seemingly doable.

The Marlins recalled Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Bride will give the Marlins some protection along the infielder. The 28-year-old has two hits in 12 at-bats during his brief time in the majors this season.

The Guardians optioned Tena to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

The 23-year-old was called up by Cleveland on June 27 and appeared in three games during his brief time in the majors, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Tena will now return to Columbus, where he has a .290/.337/.477 slash line with 14 homers and 10 steals through 73 games.

The Guardians recalled Martinez from Triple-A Columbus, and he's starting in center field Thursday against the White Sox.

The 22-year-old was up with the big club for a couple days in June and saw action in two games, going 2-for-7 at the plate. Martinez started at third base and designated hitter during that stint but will receive a look in center field Thursday while batting second.

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Reds.

LeMahieu started the previous five games and will receive a day off after he went 4-for-19 with two doubles, three walks and three RBI in that stretch. Oswaldo Cabrera will take over at the hot corner Thursday.

Candelario started at first base and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Yankees.

This was Candelario's first start in the field since returning from a hamstring injury. He'd served as the designated hitter the previous two games. As a result of him playing first base, Spencer Steer moved to left field for the day.

Marte went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a 3-2 win against the Yankees.

Marte produced the bulk of Cincinnati's offense with his two-run blast in the second inning. That was his first hit in five games since going 3-for-5 in his return from an 80-game suspension June 27. Marte is batting .167 overall since being reinstated, collecting four RBI, five runs and two stolen bases across six contests.

Vientos went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Nationals.

Vientos gave New York a 3-0 lead with his two-run shot in the fourth inning, though Washington rallied late to claim victory. The long ball was Vientos' fifth over his past nine games, and he's also tallied 10 RBI during that span. The third baseman has taken hold of the primary third-base role for the Mets with a strong stat line that includes a .297/.352/.579 slash, 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 26 runs over 159 plate appearances.
