Chafin earned a save against the Reds on Saturday by striking out the only batter he faced.

Detroit held a three-run lead heading into the ninth inning and turned the ball over to closer Jason Foley. However, the right-hander wasn't effective, giving up a leadoff homer to Spencer Steer and a two-out single to Noelvi Marte. Chafin was subsequently brought in to get the final out of the contest and did so by fanning Santiago Espinal on six pitches. Chafin recorded a career-high eight saves with Arizona last year, but this was his first save this season.

Faedo allowed one hit while striking out two batters in two scoreless innings as the opener in Detroit's win over Cincinnati on Saturday.

Faedo began the Tigers' bullpen game and got the job done with two scoreless innings. It was the first time the right-hander has opened a contest this season. This is Faedo's first campaign as a full-time reliever in the majors, and he's posted a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB over 39.2 frames.

Green notched a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.

Green was deployed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out Cal Raleigh to preserve a two-run Toronto lead. He returned in the ninth frame and worked around a one-out solo shot by Luke Raley to nail down the save. Green has two saves over the past four days and has allowed just three earned runs -- all on solo homers -- over 21 innings since the start of April. However, he could see less closing opportunities with Yimi Garcia nearing a return from an elbow injury.

Avila (3-1) allowed a run on one hit and struck out two over 1.1 innings to earn the win Saturday over the Giants.

Avila worked in the sixth and seventh innings, and he was credited with the win by the official scorer in a game where the Guardians never trailed despite Logan Allen's 4.1-inning start. Avila has worked more than an inning in seven straight appearances, allowing four runs over 12.2 frames with a 10:8 K:BB in that span. Overall, he's pitched to a 3.86 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 48:21 K:BB through 46.2 innings between the Guardians and the Padres this season. Avila continues to fill a low-leverage role for Cleveland.

Clase walked one and struck out none over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Clase has earned six saves and a win during his active nine-inning scoreless streak. He's added a 5:2 K:BB in that span. The closer is 26-for-29 in save chances this year with a 0.65 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB across 41.1 innings.

Winckowski did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 14-4 loss to the Yankees, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

Winckowski surrendered a leadoff home run to Ben Rice in the first inning and a two-run homer to Alex Verdugo in the third. He departed at 66 pitches with one out to go in the fourth frame in an unimpressive follow-up to the five scoreless frames he threw Sunday. On the season, the 26-year-old owns a 3.23 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 39 innings and lines up to face the Royals next week if he remains in the rotation.

The Royals designated Selby for assignment Saturday.

Selby will lose his spot on the Royals' 40-man roster in order to make room for Kris Bubic (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL on Saturday. Selby hasn't pitched in the majors since early May, and he has posted a 6.23 ERA alongside a 1.18 WHIP over 21.2 frames with Omaha.

Schreiber (3-3) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning, taking the loss Friday versus the Rockies.

Schreiber loaded the bases in the eighth inning and gave up a two-run double to Brenton Doyle to give the Rockies a 4-2 lead. The Royals couldn't bounce back, leaving Schreiber with his second loss in six appearances. The right-hander has given up 11 runs (nine earned) over his last 6.1 innings spanning nine outings. For the season, he's at a 4.46 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB with a save and 19 holds through 34.1 innings. While he remains in a high-leverage role, his performance has been too volatile to trust in recent weeks.

Faedo will start Saturday's game against the Reds.

Faedo will throw the first pitch for Detroit, as the Tigers will rely on their bullpen to get them through Saturday's game in order to give their starters an extra day of rest. The 28-year-old righty served as a starter for two seasons before moving to the bullpen full-time in 2024, so he may be able to get through two or three innings before getting pulled.

Cisnero (shoulder) threw off a mound in late June, per MLB.com.

Cisnero was shut down from throwing in late May after feeling tightness in his lower back, but he's now almost a month into the resumption of his throwing program. His advancement to tossing off a mound suggests he is making strides toward a return, though it's uncertain when the righty reliever will be ready to pitch in games again. Cisnero hasn't faced hitters since making his third appearance in four days for the Angels in a relief outing versus Minnesota on April 27.
