Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Taking seat Sunday
O'Neill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
The 29-year-old started the previous five contests but will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale after going 0-for-8 with five strikeouts through the first two games versus San Diego. Jarren Duran will shift to left field while Enmanuel Valdez takes O'Neill's spot in the lineup.

O'Neill is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Blue Jays.
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays -- his 16th long ball of the season -- but he will receive a day off Wednesday. Rob Refsnyder will get a start in left field for the Red Sox, who are looking to give O'Neill periodic maintenance after he returned from the injured list earlier this month and also missed three straight games with knee inflammation.

O'Neill is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
O'Neill will hit the bench after going 0-for-7 with two walks over the Red Sox's previous two contests, but he's been excellent overall since making his return from a three-game absence due to a knee issue earlier this month, slashing .273/.342/.697 since June 12. Even though he finds himself as the odd man out of the Boston outfield Saturday while the team brings Wilyer Abreu (ankle) back from the injured list, O'Neill should continue to handle a near-everyday role for the Red Sox.

Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Goes yard again
O'Neill went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run during Tuesday's 4-3 win over Toronto.
After swatting a pair of homers in the series opener against the Blue Jays, O'Neill homered again Tuesday, tagging Brendon Little for a game-tying solo shot in the eighth inning. O'Neill has generated multiple hits in four of his last five games, going 8-for-23 (.348) with four home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI during that stretch.

O'Neill hit two of Boston's four home runs for his first multi-homer game since April 5. He's up to 14 long balls this season, but just six of those have come since the start of May. The slugging outfielder is slashing .258/.354/.534 with 25 RBI through 206 plate appearances. O'Neill has gone 11-for-30 (.367) with five multi-hit performances in eight games this month.
