  • Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Not starting Sunday

Ortiz (neck) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

The 25-year-old is out of the lineup for the third straight game due to neck soreness, but his absence is viewed as precautionary. Ortiz's appearance as a pinch runner during Saturday's contest reinforces that sentiment. Andruw Monasterio will receive another start at the hot corner in Sunday's series finale.

  • Brewers' Dallas Keuchel: Set for second start Tuesday

Keuchel is listed as the Brewers' scheduled starter for Tuesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Keuchel endured a rocky Milwaukee debut this past Wednesday against Texas, covering four innings and striking out four while allowing five earned runs on eight hits -- including two home runs -- and one walk. Don't look for the veteran southpaw's fortunes to improve much as he makes his second turn through the Milwaukee rotation in Colorado, one of the most unforgiving environments for pitchers.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Collects two hits, steals base

Turang went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.

Turang's speed was on display in the defeat -- he plated the Brewers' first run with an RBI bunt single in the third inning and followed the hit with a steal of second base. The swipe was his 28th of the season, second most in the majors. Fantasy managers should have been aware of Turang's speed coming into the campaign after he swiped 26 bags in 137 games last year, but the second baseman's other offensive stats have been a pleasant surprise. He's slashing .290/.354/.406 with five homers, 33 RBI and 39 runs through 317 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Tobias Myers: Fares well in no-decision

Myers allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.

Myers came into Saturday having given up one or zero runs in four straight starts, all of which ended with his name in the win column. The right-hander couldn't extend the win streak Saturday, but he still pitched pretty well to notch his fourth quality start of the campaign. June was a breakout month for Myers, who was actually optioned to Triple-A on the first day of the month following a poor start against the White Sox on May 31. Since returning to the big club, he has gone 4-0 while posting a 1.44 ERA and 24:8 K:BB over 31.1 frames across five starts.

  • Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Sidelined at least one month

Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Dunn has a disc issue in his back and is expected to remain on the injured list for at least another month, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Dunn landed on the MLB injured list Wednesday after originally being sent to Triple-A on June 19, and it now seems that he'll be stuck on the IL for an extended period of time. The 26-year-old infielder hadn't been playing very often anyway prior to landing on the IL, and he'll likely be optioned to Nashville again once he's fully recovered.

  • Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Scratched with neck soreness

Ortiz was scratched from the Brewers' lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Cubs due to neck soreness.

Ortiz was originally in line to make his return to Milwaukee's lineup after neck problems kept him from playing Friday, but he'll instead require another day to rest up. As a result, Andruw Monasterio will pick up another start at third base and bat ninth.

  • Brewers' Joey Ortiz: In Saturday's lineup

Ortiz (neck) will start at third base and bat leadoff Saturday against the Cubs.

Ortiz made an early exit from Wednesday's game versus the Rangers and sat out Friday's series opener due to neck problems, but he's evidently feeling well enough to play Saturday. The 25-year-old has found a good amount of success at the plate recently, going 5-for-14 with a solo home run over his last five games.

  • Brewers' Jake Bauers: Sitting Saturday

Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Cubs.

Bauers has now been on the bench for two straight games after hitting a grand slam during Wednesday's win over the Rangers. Rhys Hoskins will get the nod at first base while Christian Yelich serves as Milwaukee's DH.

  • Brewers' Chris Roller: Pushed off 40-man

The Brewers designated Roller for assignment Saturday.

The Brewers selected Rob Zastryzny's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday in order to replace the injured Jared Koenig (forearm), leaving Roller as the odd man out of Milwaukee's 40-man roster. The 27-year-old outfielder has slashed just .196/.237/.313 through 173 plate appearances in Triple-A and will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

  • Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Contract selected

The Brewers selected Zastryzny's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Zastryzny has spent all season with Nashville after signing a minor-league deal with Milwaukee during the offseason, putting up a 3.18 ERA and 0.93 WHIP alongside a 38:8 K:BB through 28.1 innings. The 32-year-old southpaw will now join the Brewers to replace Jared Koenig (forearm), who landed on the injured list, and Zastryzny will presumably work in middle relief during his stint with Milwaukee. Chris Roller was designated for assignment in order to open up a 40-man roster spot.

  • Brewers' Jared Koenig: Lands on injured list

The Brewers placed Koenig on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left forearm tendinitis.

Koenig threw 1.1 scoreless innings and struck out three batters during his appearance Friday versus the Cubs, but he seems to have come away from his outing with an injury. The 30-year-old southpaw has been one of the Brewers' more surprising finds of the season, posting a 1.66 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 38 innings. Rob Zastryzny was selected from Triple-A Nashville to replenish Milwaukee's bullpen depth.

  • Brewers' Colin Rea: Fans eight in win

Rea (7-2) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Cubs.

Rea looked strong aside from a speed bump in the fourth inning. He gave up a solo shot to Seiya Suzuki before Dansby Swanson drove in another run. Rea set new season highs with eight strikeouts and 15 whiffs, including six via the sinker. He hasn't lost a start since May 19; in seven outings since then, he's 4-0 with a 3.03 ERA. Rea is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 62:28 K:BB through 87.1 innings. His next start is projected to be in Colorado.

  • Brewers' Trevor Megill: Secures save Friday

Megill tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn a save against the Cubs on Friday.

Megill threw nine of 11 pitches for strikes and quickly worked through the Cubs' 6-7-8 hitters to finish the 4-2 victory. He's converted 11 straight save chances since his last blown opportunity May 20. During that stretch, he's produced a 1.32 ERA over 13.2 frames. Megill's season ERA is down to 1.71 alongside a 30:7 K:BB.

  • Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Belts grand slam

Chourio went 2-for-3 with a grand slam in Friday's win over the Cubs.

Chourio's grand slam in the fourth inning gave the Brewers the lead and proved to be the only offense the team could produce all night. He's homered in back-to-back games, though his home run Wednesday against Texas was inside-the-park. He's knocked nine homers with 33 RBI and a .676 OPS through 72 games this season.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Rehab assignment ending soon

Manager Pat Murphy said Friday the rehab assignment for Mitchell (finger) will end Saturday and the team hasn't had discussions about optioning him, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers are currently dealing with a logjam in the outfield, with Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio all seeing significant action during Mitchell's absence due to a fractured finger. Considering the injury and Milwaukee's outfield depth, it's possible that Mitchell will remain with Triple-A Nashville after being reinstated. However, Murphy's comments don't seem to support that possibility. Mitchell was removed from Wednesday's rehab outing with an unrelated hamstring injury but was able to suit up and play Thursday. Regardless of what level he ends up playing, Mitchell should be activated from the 60-day IL this weekend.

  • Brewers' Jake Bauers: Out of lineup Friday

Bauers is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Cubs.

Despite Chicago sending right-hander Jameson Taillon to the mound Friday, the lefty-hitting Bauers will begin the game in the dugout. For the month of June, Bauers is slashing .263/.378/.447 with two home runs and eight RBI over 38 at-bats. Rhys Hoskins will start at first base Friday while Christian Yelich serves as the designated hitter.
