Last week, we noted that a human victory cigar was being extinguished by virtue of Brian Scalabrine's decision to retire from the NBA after 11 seasons and join the Boston Celtics' television broadcasting team.

Now, out of left field comes a video tribute to the beloved Scalabrine. Yes, a highlight-reel tribute to a man who posted averages of 3.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per game during a career that included stops with the New Jersey Nets, Celtics and the Chicago Bulls. Why not?

Cult heroes need relics, I guess, and this highlight video certainly fills that void. It's a fittingly goofy exercise.

"The man, the myth, the legend, the White Mamba," an announcer's voice booms as Scalabrine tears off his warm-ups in slow motion. It goes on from there: Scalabrine slowly drives to the hole for a pull-up runner, he bombs from way deep, he knocks down a number of face-up jumpers, he throws in a few up-and-under lay-ups and he even finishes a few dunks.

The accompanying high-energy music provides a nice balance to his low-athleticism plays.
