  • Celtics' Drew Peterson: Will become restricted free agent

The Celtics extended a qualifying offer to Peterson on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

The Celtics did the same for Neemias Queta, giving the organization the option to match opposing offers in free agency. Peterson made just three appearances for the Celtics in 2024-25, playing 7.7 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Option picked up

The Celtics will exercise Hauser's $2.1 million option for the 2024-25 season Saturday, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.

Both parties are expected to have negotiations on an extension after the window to do so opens July 9, but for the time being, Hauser will at least be back with the Celtics for the 2024-25 season. The 26-year-old has seen his role grow with the club in each of the three years he has been on the team. He was a key rotational piece on this season's championship-winning squad, averaging 9.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 triples and 0.5 steals across 22.0 minutes in 79 games.

  • Celtics' Tristan Enaruna: Inks deal with Boston

The Celtics signed Enaruna to an Exhibit 10 contract Thursday, Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com reports.

Enaruna averaged 19.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals across 35 games in 2023-24 for Cleveland State. After going undrafted, he will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Celtics.

  • Celtics' Anton Watson: Selected No. 54 by Boston

The Celtics selected Watson with the No. 54 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday.

Watson fit into a lot of different roles at Gonzaga during his five years with the Bulldogs, and he ended his final season with averages of 14.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per contest on 57.8 percent shooting from the floor. However, he converted just 65.3 percent of his free throw attempts and went 21-of-51 from distance, so he'll need to work on expanding his range to stay relevant at the NBA level. Considering he's joining a loaded Boston team that will be looking to repeat for another championship, Watson's playing opportunities will be scarce and he'll likely spend a lot of the season with their G League affiliate in Maine.

  • Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Undergoes foot surgery

The Celtics announced Thursday that Porzingis recently underwent successful foot surgery and is expected to return to play in 5-6 months, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.

Porzingis dealt with a lower left leg injury during the playoffs, and offseason surgery was expected. He underwent a procedure to repair a torn retinaculum and dislocated posterior tibialis tendon and will likely be forced to miss the start of the regular season in the 2024-25 campaign.
