  • Pacers' Josiah-Jordan James: Inks Exhibit 10 deal

James signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Pacers on Friday, Mike Wilson of the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.

James went undrafted but will play for the Pacers during Summer League action with a chance to earn a two-way deal for the 2024-25 campaign. Across five seasons at Tennessee, the 6-foot-6 guard averaged 8.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

  • Pacers' Enrique Freeman: Drafted by Indiana

The Pacers selected Freeman with the No. 50 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Freeman spent five years at Akron before declaring for the NBA Draft. In 2023-24, he averaged 18.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.6 assists in 35 games. While Freeman has shown impressive rebounding abilities for a 6-foot-7 forward, there is no obvious path for playing time right out of the gate.

  • Pacers' Tristen Newton: Drafted by Pacers in second round

Newton was selected by the Pacers with the No. 49 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The senior guard from UConn will add a defensive presence to a Pacers team that lacked it throughout the season. He should be a pesky on-ball defender to opposing guards with his 6-foot-3 frame, which includes a 6-foot-7 wingspan. Offensively, it's a mixed bag. Newton's three-ball is inconsistent, and while he's crafty around the rim, he's not much of a vertical athlete, which could cause issues in the NBA. It's not a guarantee he'll be an every night rotation player for Indiana, but he could see spot minutes in certain matchups.

  • Pacers' Johnny Furphy: Headed to Indiana at No. 35

Furphy was selected by the Pacers with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Pacers traded up one spot with the Spurs to grab Furphy, who's coming off of a freshman season at Kansas in which he averaged 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.3 made threes per game. Furphy is an intriguing blend of size and shooting, having knocked down 35.2 percent of his three-point looks at Kansas. He's unlikely to make much of an impact in Year 1 but could be an interesting developmental project for the Pacers.

  • Pacers' Obi Toppin: Gets qualifying offer

The Pacers issued Toppin a qualifying offer Wednesday, making him a restricted free agent, Tony East of SI.com reports.

Toppin set career highs across the board during his first season in Indiana, as he averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 stocks in 21.1 minutes across 82 regular-season appearances. He also provided a spark off the bench during the postseason, scoring at least 10 points in six straight games at one point. During that stretch, Toppin averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per game.

  • Pacers' Pascal Siakam: Stays in Indiana on four-year deal

Siakam agreed Wednesday with the Pacers on a four-year, $189.5 million maximum contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Siakam plans to officially sign the contract once the free agency moratorium ends July 6. After coming over from Toronto in Jan. 17 trade, Siakam proved to be an ideal fit in the Pacers frontcourt and was instrumental in helping lead Indiana to an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals. Over his 41 regular-season appearances with the Pacers following the trade, Siakam averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 31.8 minutes per contest while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.

  • Pacers' Pascal Siakam: Expected to remain in Indiana

Siakam and the Pacers are nearing an agreement on a long-term contract extension, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.

Both sides are motivated to get a deal done after Siakam had a successful half-season in Indiana after coming over in a Jan. 17 trade with the Raptors. The terms of the proposed deal aren't known yet, but Siakam is likely getting a maximum deal or close to it. In 41 regular-season appearances for the Pacers, Siakam posted averages of 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 three-pointers in 31.8 minutes while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.
