  • Kings' Kessler Edwards: To hit free agency

The Kings did not extend a qualifying offer to Edwards, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Edwards is now set to become an unrestricted free agent. He made 54 appearances for the Kings in 2023-24 but didn't make much of an impact with an average of 1.7 points in 5.1 minutes per contest.

  • Kings' Isaiah Crawford: Inks two-way deal with Sacramento

Crawford agreed to a two-way contract with the Kings on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Crawford didn't hear his name called during Thursday's second round of the NBA Draft, but he'll still latch on with a contract. The forward out of Louisiana Tech is a good shooter who isn't afraid to body defenders to get to the basket. However, he isn't much of a shot creator and may end up mostly being a spot-up player who can be aggressive in transition.

  • Kings' Jalen McDaniels: Headed to Sacramento

The Raptors traded McDaniels to the Kings in exchange for Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov, the No. 45 pick in 2024 NBA Draft and a second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft via Portland on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

During his first year in Toronto, McDaniels served as depth in the team's forward rotation. In 2023-24, he averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.8 minutes across 50 appearances, including one start. However, the 25-year-old mightily struggled with his efficiency, posting 34.4/16.9/73.0 shooting splits. If McDaniels isn't able to drastically increase his offensive output, he will likely struggle to find minutes in Sacramento.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Picked 13th by Kings

Carter was selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by Sacramento.

Carter is a high-energy, high-motor guard who's an excellent defender but is a bit of a 'tweener due to his offensive game. He's capable of creating his own shot and hit on 37.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc, but it's unclear if his decision making will be good enough for him to play point guard. While he's only 6-foot-2, the reigning Big East Player of the Year out of Providence has a massive wingspan and logged 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. However, he'll have to navigate through plenty of traffic in a busy Kings backcourt that features De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter and Keon Ellis.

  • Kings' Sasha Vezenkov: Wants to remain in NBA

Contrary to a previous report, Vezenkov said he will honor his contract with the Kings and wants to stay in the NBA, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Cunningham adds that the report which stated that Vezenkov will not return to the Kings is "off base". The Kings reportedly want to keep the sharpshooter, but there is a market for him and it's no secret that the forward would like a larger role in the rotation. In his first NBA campaign, Vezenkov posted averages of 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds across 12.2 minutes in 42 appearances.

  • Kings' Malik Monk: Will stay with Sacramento

Monk (knee) intends to sign a four-year, $78 million deal with the Kings, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Monk continues to recover from a knee injury, but that hasn't stopped him from reaching an agreement with the Kings. The sharpshooter averaged career-high marks in points (15.4) and assists (5.1) per game en route to finishing second in the 2023-24 Sixth Man of the Year award voting. Even though Monk was expected to be a sought-after player in the open market, instead, he chose to sign with the Kings and is expected to make the deal official once the league year begins July 1.
