  • Raptors' Bruce Brown: Team option picked up

The Raptors exercised Brown's $23 million player option for the 2024-25 season Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

A key piece in the Nuggets' run to the NBA title in 2022-23, Brown struggled to take hold of a larger role in Indiana to begin the season and then with the Raptors, who acquired him from the Pacers in January. Following the trade to Toronto, Brown appeared in 34 games and averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 three-pointers in 26.1 minutes per contest. Despite his underwhelming production in Toronto, the Raptors still saw enough value in Brown's defensive versatility to retain him at a $23 million salary. If nothing else, the sizable expiring contract will make Brown a valuable trade piece in helping Toronto facilitate a potential deal during the upcoming season.

  • Raptors' Quincy Guerrier: Inks deal with Toronto

The Raptors signed Guerrier to an Exhibit 10 contract Thursday.

Guerrier finished his collegiate career with Illinois, averaging 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds across 38 appearances in 2023-24. Guerrier will now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot in Toronto.

  • Raptors' Immanuel Quickley: Agrees to $175 million deal

Quickley agreed to sign a five-year, $175 million contract with the Raptors on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The Raptors acquired the 25-year-old from the Knicks in December, and he turned up his game in Toronto as he started in all 38 appearances. Quickley averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 33.3 minutes while shooting 39.5 percent from deep for the Raptors. He was entering the 2024-25 campaign as a restricted free agent but has now secured a massive deal shortly after teammate Scottie Barnes agreed to a max contract.

  • Raptors' Ulrich Chomche: Selected No. 57 by Toronto

The Raptors selected Chomche with the No. 57 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday.

While Chomche doesn't have a ton of experience, he does have an impressive frame at 6-foot-10, 232 pounds with a 7-foot-4 wingspan. There's not a ton to his game at the moment, but he has the potential to develop into a defensive menace, and he's shown promise in the passing department. He's a project out of Cameroon, so he can safely be ignored in fantasy hoops in the short term.

  • Raptors' Jamal Shead: Heading to Toronto

Shead was selected by the Kings with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He was then traded to the Raptors along with Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and a 2025 second-round pick in exchange for Jaden McDaniels, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca.

Shead played four collegiate seasons at Houston and was especially solid as a playmaker during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 12.9 points, 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game. The six-foot guard is touted as an excellent on-ball defender but isn't particularly reliable from beyond the arc. If he can develop his shot a bit more at the professional level, Shead could carve out a decent career as a backup point guard.

  • Raptors' Jonathan Mogbo: Goes 31st to Toronto

Mogbo was selected by the Raptors with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Mogbo played two years of junior college basketball before spending a year at Missouri State and finishing out at San Francisco last season. In 2023-24, Mogbo posted 14.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. At 6-6 with a 7-3 wingspan, Mogbo is somewhat of a hybrid, capable of playing both on and off the ball and defending multiple positions. At the NBA level, Mogbo will likely be a defense-first, energy player who does the little things. At this stage in his development, Mogbo is essentially a non-shooter outside of the paint.

  • Raptors' Sasha Vezenkov: Shipped to Toronto

The Kings traded Vezenkov, Davion Mitchell, the No. 45 pick in 2024 NBA Draft and a second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft via Portland to the Raptors in exchange for Jalen McDaniels on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Vezenkov made 42 appearances for the Kings in 2023-24, averaging 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes on 44.0/37.5/80.0 shooting splits. While Vezenkov has shown the ability to be a quality floor-spacer at the forward position, there is no guarantee he will receive a significant uptick in playing time in Toronto.

  • Raptors' Davion Mitchell: Heading to Toronto

Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and the No. 45 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft were traded from the Kings to the Raptors in exchange for Jalen McDaniels on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Mitchell maintained a consistent bench role for the Kings during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 5.3 points, 1.9 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game over 72 regular-season appearances. He should provide a defensive punch off the bench with his new team during the 2024-25 season.

  • Raptors' Ja'Kobe Walter: Headed to Toronto with No. 19 pick

Walter was selected by the Raptors with the No. 19 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Walter was last season's Big 12 Freshman of the Year while at Baylor and earned Third-Team All-Big 12 honors. First and foremost, Walter is a three-point shooter. Of his 10.9 shot attempts per game, 6.3 of them came from distance. He drained 2.1 threes per game at 34.1 percent. While that's not an elite number, he took plenty of difficult movement triples. He's capable of pump faking and driving off his three-point threat, but he's not a top-shelf athlete and needs to work on his finishing around the basket. He'll often pump fake to push in and shoot a mid-ranger. Taking a step forward as a ball handler and passer would do wonders for his potential. Defensively, Walter struggles from a lack of footspeed and may be better off guarding bigger players given his 6-foot-10 wingspan on a 6-foot-4 frame. Walter's gravity as a three-point shooter, especially one who can move off-ball, should be valuable to Toronto. If Toronto moves on from Gary Trent and/or Bruce Brown, Walter could compete for a starting spot with Gradey Dick.
