Seahawks at Dolphins -- Week 12

Where: Sun Life Stadium, Miami (Grass, outdoors)

When: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox)

Spread: Seattle by 3

Forecast: Sunny. Mid-70's, light winds.

Records: Seahawks (Overall: 6-4, NFC West: 0-3); Dolphins (Overall: 4-6, AFC East: 1-2).

Past results: Two most recent meetings -- Nov. 9, 2008 (Dolphins 21, Seahawks 19); Nov. 21, 2004 (Seahawks 24, Dolphins 17). Series record: Dolphins lead 9-4.

What matters: Winning on the road. The Seahawks have proven two things so far this season: they're unbeatable at home (5-0) -- and they're very beatable on the road (1-4). If the Seahawks are going to make the playoffs, they're going to have to pick up one or two more road wins before the seasons ends. A great place to start would be in Miami; the Dolphins are on a three-game skid that includes a 37-3 loss to Tennessee in their last home game.

Who matters: QB Russell Wilson. The Seahawks' 1-4 road record isn't completely Wilson's fault, but he's played a big part in it. Wilson has thrown 8 interceptions this seaon, all of which have come on the road. His QB rating is an impressive 122 at home, but it's only 65.8 when Seattle is the visiting team. The Seahawks' offensive production has suffered as a result: the team averages 24.6 points per game at home, but only 15 points per game on the road.

Key matchups: RB Marshawn Lynch vs. the Dolphins run defense. In the Seahawks' Week 10 win over the Jets, Lynch ran for 124 yards against a New York run defense that ranked 30th in the NFL. Things won't be so easy against the Dolphins on Sunday. Miami's run defense is one of only 10 in the league that surrenders less than 100 yards per game (96.8). The Seahawks' rushing offense is seventh in the NFL, averaging 142.4 yards per game. Lynch ranks second in the NFL with 100.5 yards per game.

Injuries of note: Last week's bye came at the perfect time for the Seahawks and gave the team plenty of time to heal. DE Red Bryant (foot) is the only player that missed a practice this week -- he missed Thursday's -- and he's listed as probable for Sunday.

Inside stuff: Yes, Wilson has struggled on the road this season, but he seems to like playing against the AFC East. The rookie quarterback is 2-0 against the divsion; he's thrown 5 touchdowns, no interceptions and has averaged 240.5 passing yards per game in wins over the Jets and Patriots.

Connections: Pete Carroll will coach against one of his former USC stars, Reggie Bush, on Sunday. USC and Carroll were stripped of the 2004 BCS national championship as a result of Bush committing several NCAA infractions. Carroll left USC in January 2010, the punishment for Bush's wrongdoings was announced in June 2010.

Stat you should know: If you like big plays -- those that go for over 20 yards -- don't get your hopes up of seeing too many on Sunday. The Seahawks are last in the NFL in the big play department with only 27. Next to last? That would be the Dolphins with 29.

Looking ahead: The Seahawks really need to get this road thing figured out because after Miami, they play two of their next three on the road, including a Week 13 game at Chicago and a Week 15 game against Buffalo in Toronto.

Prediction: Seahawks 24, Dolphins 17
