S Amari Spievey has taken first-team reps during Detroit's last two offseason workouts, an indication he'll begin training camp as the starter opposite Louis Delmas. Although 2012 will be Spievey's third NFL season, this is his first offseason spent training as a safety. Spievey said the 2011 lockout hurt his development, and Jim Schwartz agreed with his assessment. “(Spievey was) inconsistent as a second-year player,” Schwartz said. “He needs to get that off of his resume, and (offseason training is) the time to do it. It’s his third-year in the system and we need to see more consistency out of him.”
